Express The Heart of Habitat's Mission

Athens Area Habitat invites you to submit a poem (4 -8 lines) that expresses the heart of our service mission. This poem will be submitted to The Heart and Soul (H&S) Grant Award Program as part of a $10,000 grant application. If selected, the poem will become the basis of a song, written and produced by Los Lonely Boys and presented, along with a video of the performance of the song, for non-commercial community education and awareness.

Please email all submissions to laura@athenshabitat.com with "poem" in the subject line. The deadline for submitting a poem is Wednesday, August 12 at 11:59pm.

A lively group from UGA's Freshman College Summer Experience Program came out this weekend to volunteer for Athens Area Habitat. The group built a shed as well as helped to clear the lot for a new Habitat home! Thank you to all the students that participated!

Also, a thank you to Barberitos for providing lunch to the energetic group!

A hardworking crew from Housing 4 Housing worked on A Brush With Kindness project this weekend. Included in the list of repairs was patching the roof and building steps so the homeowner could access her door. Thank you to the volunteers who gave their time this weekend to make a big difference in the life of a fellow Athenian!
