Rahming Home Dedication today at 5:15 pm!
Athens Area Habitat for Humanity will dedicate the Rahming Family home on Tuesday, January 26th at 5:15 pm. The home is located at 100 Redfern Circle Bogart, GA. All are welcome to attend this outdoor dedication.
The dedication ceremony celebrates the completion of the house and thanks the countless volunteers who gave of their time, talents, and materials to the build. This home is partially funded by the efforts of dedicated 2008 and 2009 Committee of 1,000 members.Membership funds directly contributed to Athens Area Habitat’s ability to provide a decent, affordable place for Diala Rahming and her four girls to call home.
New Habitat homeowner Daila Rahming and her four girls are looking forward to moving into the home they helped to build. Rahming supported the construction of her home by contributing 500 sweat equity hours working at the job site along side volunteers and staff.
After the dedication ceremony, the Rahming Family kindly invites you to tour their new home and enjoy light refreshments.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service: Make it "A Day On, Not a Day Off".
Celebrate Dr. King's legacy by volunteering to work on different local service projects in the morning and then celebrate in the afternoon at Lyndon House Arts Center with live music, variety shows, poetry readings and hands-on art activities. Thank you to the over volunteers that have already registered to make a difference in the community.
If you missed out on this opportunity, know that you can still volunteer to help! Contact our office or check out Hands On Northeast Georgai to get started

Score one for the greatest generation. Thanks to four of the most motivated and talented volunteers to date, we knocked out an accessibility ramp project in record time, just 3 days from start to finish. It was truly amazing to watch how a group of folks of varying skill levels could pull together, each using their strengths while picking up new ones to achieve the extraordinary. All of them traded what should have been lazy days playing golf for hard labor in sub freezing temperatures and made retirement look fun. Dottie, Roger and Tom --- You guys are the most amazing volunteers! Please come back because there are about 10 more to do this year...

Volunteer opportunities still available include building at the construction site and office support. The minimum age requirement is 16 for all volunteer opportunities.
Office volunteers will help with data entry, filing, and other office related tasks. The office is open Monday through Friday 9am – 5pm.
"Hammer Swinging" on the job site is one of the best ways to get involved in our mission. No prior construction experience is needed and we provide everything you will need to build on the job site. We build Wednesday through Saturday 9am - 3pm.
