What Will You Build?

In preparation for our World Habitat Day 2010 celebration, we want to know, "What will you build?" Write your answer on a piece of paper and email your picture response to us at pr@athenshabitat.com. We'll post your answers all next week!

Here's what some of our staff will build:

World Habitat Day 2010

Join us Monday, October 4th for a day of events celebrating World Habitat Day 2010.

"What Will You Build?"
Take a picture of yourself holding your answer to that question on a piece of paper and email it to us at pr@athenshabitat.com. We'll post photos from the community every morning next week.

Donation Drive
Athens Habitat ReStore will hold a donation drive from 9am - 5pm on Monday. We challenge everyone in our community to find one item to donate. We have also partnered with the organization Books for Keeps (http://booksforkeeps.blogspot.com), to collect new and gently used books for children who might otherwise not have any books of their own. The collection bin is located just inside the ReStore.

Benefit Party
Our World Habitat Day 2010 celebration will end with a party at Hendershot's (located at 1560 Oglethorpe Avenue in Athens) from 7 - 10pm. Enjoy live music and enter to win raffle prizes from generous local businesses, including De Palma's, Brett's Casual American Restaurant, Lowe's, Jittery Joe's and more! The event is FREE and open to the public, with a suggested donation of $10/raffle ticket.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Carpenter's Circle Ground Blessing

We believe that everyone deserves a decent, affordable place to live and we can not build and renovate these homes without incredible, faithful volunteers. Thank you to the men and women who give their time, energy, and monetary gifts so that others may live better.

Saturday's ground blessing offered by Rev. Edwin Beckham and members of Emmanuel Episcopal Church was beautiful. Check out all of the pictures on Facebook!

"Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vein."
