A hardworking crew from Housing 4 Housing worked on A Brush With Kindness project this weekend. Included in the list of repairs was patching the roof and building steps so the homeowner could access her door. GoodSearch for Athens Area Habitat!

What if Athens Area Habitat earned a donation every time you searched the Internet? Or how about if a percentage of every purchase you made online went to support our cause? Well, now it can!

GoodSearch.com is a new Yahoo-powered search engine that donates half its advertising revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities its users designate. Use it just as you would any search engine, get quality search results from Yahoo, and watch the donations add up!

GoodShop.com is a new online shopping mall which donates up to 37 percent of each purchase to your favorite cause! Hundreds of great stores including Amazon, Target, Gap, Best Buy, ebay, Macy's and Barnes & Noble have teamed up with GoodShop and every time you place an order, you’ll be supporting your favorite cause.

Just go to www.goodsearch.com and be sure to enter Athens Area Habitat for Humanity as the charity you want to support. And, be sure to spread the word!

What a great excuse to treat yourself to a massage!

Athens Area Habitat hosted our second installment of Dawg Camp: Classic City yesterday. Classic City is an extended orientation program for incoming first-year students, sponsored by the Center for Leadership & Service.

This enthusiastic group of incoming freshman helped on the final stages of our ReHOUSE project. They almost made it out before the rain hit, but no one seemed to mind the sudden shower. We really want to thank the group for their positive attitude and eagerness to help. I hope to see you out on the build site again soon!

Also, a special thanks to Wingster Cafe for providing lunch for the hardworking crew.

Want to share your Habitat experience? We'd love to see photos of your time with us. Send us pictures you took while on the build site, at an event, or when you saw us around town.

You can now email photos to AthensAreaHabitat.volunteer@picasaweb.com to have them uploaded to our media gallery.

And while you're thinking about it... browse through our media gallery. There you'll find pictures from the Mens Bake Sale, the ReHOUSE program, Move To Improve Block Party, multiple build sites, EHARP pictures, and more.
